A Perfect Body is a good read. I like how it expresses the dangers of anorexia. Cassandra Barnes explores the dangers and bad influences by which anorexia can destroy the body. She relays a good story of how teenagers will do anything to follow the modern craze of looking good and fit. I like how she digs deep into the heart and soul of Madeleine and brings out her inner self, too. She and Luke so deserve to find that one love to last a lifetime. All the players are crafted in such a life-like form that this reader felt as if she was right in the middle of a real event going on in this delightful read.

Cassandra Barnes takes a serious issue and wraps a powerful love story around harrowing details that inform the reader of the terrible and sometimes catastrophic results of anorexia and bulimia. She's researched her subject thoroughly and shares her information in a truly inspirational manner, that build her characters into fully rounded people her readers will relate to. Into this mix she adds jealousies, betrayals, and secondary characters who all play their parts to perfection.
This is a must read book, and once you've read this one, you'll want to search for her previous two books, and read them too. Cassandra Barnes is a name to watch out for.
She never disappoints.

Ms Cassandra Barnes has published a new novel, Acts of Love, which tells the story of Amanda Reed, who has made a new life for herself in a small town where she has cultivated a large group of close friends. Then two murders shake up the community. Amanda and her friends rally around to help the family of the victims. It is in this chaotic time that Michael, the son Amanda had regretfully abandoned for his own good years ago, shows up at her door. There is no great reunion. Michael resents his mother, but has only looked her up for the sake of his son, who has recently been diagnosed with cancer. Michael is hoping that Amanda, as the grandmother, might be that compatible bone marrow donor to save his child's life. Acts of Love deals with the question of hard decisions some people make based on love that call for personal sacrifice, then years later, they wonder if they had made the right decision.
Cassandra Barnes is to be congratulated for skillfully weaving into this theme a budding romance in a murder mystery that is then complicated by a family conflict.
This appealing novel makes easy reading. I look forward to her next novel.

Cassandra Barnes has done it again! A PERFECT BODY is a great read, filled with characters who come alive as the pages turn and with issues that affect many of us today. This author shows insight into a major problem in our society, especially with teens, but she weaves the love interest in so that it becomes an uplifting story that is a pleasure to read.

Luke and Madeleine are two young people who have decided to follow the conventional wisdom of working towards financial stability, and experiencing life before giving in to their nesting instinct. Luke is busy working for a junior partnership in a public relations firm, while Madeleine is starting out to establish herself as a journalist when love knocks them off their feet. In this atmosphere of trying to resist an inconvenient romance, they have to deal with the serious question of anorexia and bulimia that touches both their lives. This is the third of Ms Barnes romance novels that I have read, and she continues to entertain and educate me. I look forward to her next book. --
